The Lord, God made a promise to man. He said that if man walk in the ways of Jesus he would be rewarded with eternal salvation. That is his promise to man. Baptism is man’s promise to God that he intends to walk in the ways of Jesus.

Baptism is a public testimony that a soul is making a very private commitment to make every attempt to be a righteous person under God. It does not mean that salvation has been achieved or that the pledger will in fact never sin. It means that the pledger will make a conscious and stalwart effort to uphold the commandments of the Lord, God.

Baptism does not have to be made in a church or by a pastor. The church baptism is an inspiration to other Christians. Any Christian can witness and participate in the baptism of another. The witness that is paramount is the Lord. This promise made is a solemn oath in the sight of God.

If a child under the age of comprehension be baptized the parent or guardian is promising this child that it will be raised under the commandments of God. They are also making this promise to God. Once the child is of the age of accountability it is righteous that the child makes his own pledging unto the Lord, God.

Baptism is not salvation and absence of baptism does not preclude a soul from receiving the promise of God to have eternal life. The act of baptism is the memorial of the mind to live in the path of Jesus Christ. It is not the key to the gates of heaven. The importance of public baptism is to revive the memorial of the mind in other Christians.

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience
We are spiritual beings having a human experience.
