What does the Bible say about depression?

http://www.answers2prayer.org/bible_questions/Answers/depression/depression.html

Yes, we all know that the very first one to call is God :c3: He is waiting to hear from even the lowliest of men.

I found a site (and several others for that matter) on answers on what He says what to do if you are tierd and lonely and weak.

Matthew 10:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.

 :pray2:

One of my favorite biblical people suffered from depression for many years...David!

After Saul's crazy antics I think anyone would have been depressed. There are others in the bible who also suffered from depression.
:hair:

Abraham (Genesis 15)
Jonah (Jonah 4)
Job (Book of Job)
Elijah (1 Kings 19)
King Saul (I Samuel 16:14-23, etc.)
Jeremiah (Book of Jeremiah)
David (Psalms 6, 13, 18, 23, 25, 27, 31, 32, 34, 37-40, 42-43, 46, 51, 55, 62-63, 69, 71, 73, 77, 84, 86, 90-91, 94-95, 103-104, 107, 110, 116, 118, 121, 123-124, 130, 138, 139, 141-143, 146-147)

I was told that the medications today will only harm your body. But I have been doing a lot of thinking, and I came up with this...

The medications of today will help the human brain. Calm it down to where you have a better feel for today's world. Then, and only then, will you find that being in a position that requires the necessary strength, you will not be so overwhelmed. And with the help of the Lord, will you overcome today's society.

Years and years ago people knew which plants and roots to eat to treat which illnesses. Since we rely today on man made pills instead, we have forgotten the natural plants and roots which did the same thing only better and without all the side effects. :rn:

lol. you have a point. and a very good one too. it's true that since then, we have long forgotten the use of natural medicine. i was in a group not that long ago, and they had said the same things. Green tea for example...is suppose to be good for your skin, and supposidly to help you lose your weight...but... for me, i rely on good old exercise and eating right...
